ANNOUNCEMENT
“AI4Biodiversity: AI Solutions for Nature” National Hackathon
“Kitelab” science communication company, Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), and “Women in Climate and Energy (WiCE)” NGO, in cooperation with the RA Ministry of Environment, are joining forces to jointly organize the “AI4Biodiversity: AI Solutions for Nature” National Hackathon, in preparation for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Armenia in 2026.

Hackathon NGO acted as a partner to the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), providing the educational component on the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and offering mentorship to participants in the field of AI and Machine Learning.
Within the framework of the hackathon, it is planned to unite young scientists, ecologists, designers, entrepreneurs, and using artificial intelligence, work together on biodiversity monitoring, protection of local ecosystems, prediction of climate risks, sustainable agricultural solutions, and community engagement.
Individuals with a desire to implement positive changes in the field, groups formed by scientific, public, private institutions, or interested persons can apply for the “AI4Biodiversity: AI Solutions for Nature” National Hackathon.

The “AI4Biodiversity: AI Solutions for Nature” National Hackathon consists of the following stages:
Stage I: From September 23 to October 8, applicants participate in 7 online training workshops on the following topics: Biodiversity and biodiversity issues, policy, introduction to artificial intelligence and tools training, promotion of artificial intelligence and startup mindset. Stage II: From October 9 to 17, formation, registration, and selection of teams for the national stage of the hackathon. Selected teams will participate in an online training on pitching and public speaking. Stage III: October 25: National stage of the hackathon, during which the selected teams will participate in an intensive 12-hour marathon with expert mentorship and data integration, refining and developing the solutions to the problems they proposed. The solutions formed during the hackathon will be presented to the evaluation jury. The total prize fund of the hackathon is 3,500,000 AMD, which will be awarded to the authors/teams of the 3 (three) best solutions.
Hack4Biodiversity is a starting platform for an innovative movement aimed at promoting the involvement of specialists and technological talents in the conservation and restoration of biodiversity using AI and digital innovation.
